Problem 1:

Why my DC-300 is recognized as “Unknown Device”?

Solution:

Please check your Device Manager, DC-300 is recognized as “Human Interface Device”.  Please check the image.

If you don’t see this entry, there is something you need to know:

CD Library II is USB 1.1 device, and USB 1.1 can be connected to USB 1.1, 2.0.

There are many manufacturers producing USB 2.0 IC chips, NEC, VIA, Intel...

But Intel integrated USB 2.0 IC chip into South Bridge like 845 on the motherboard...

CD Library II can be connected to USB 2.0 slots, but the IC need to be NEC and VIA.

If you connect CD Library II to Intel USB 2.0, problem might occur.

Please check attached image to see if your USB 2.0 IC chip is INTEL or not. (DeviceManager2.jpg)

Please install USB 2.0 extend card with NEC chip or VIA chip,

Or

Please Install USB 1.1 extend card with any brand IC chip.

Problem 2:

When I select slot 15, why the DC-300 gives me another slot (ex. Slot 65) ?

Solution:

Please check the sensors inside the machine, sometimes the sensors pop up, and the machine could not detect correct slot, we have put special glue in the sensors, hope there will have no more such problem.

Please follow the steps to check the machine:

1)       Please open the upper cover by loosing the screws at the back or machine. (3screws.jpg)

Please be careful, it is not easy to open. Please see attachment for open upper cover method. (OpenUpper.jpg, open3screw.jpg)

2) Please push the three sensors (pushsensors.gif), and power it on and try again.

Problem 3:

When I power the DC-300 on, why it shows “505” or “SOS” and do nothing?

Solution:

Please follow the steps to check if wire loose:

1)       Please open the upper cover by loosing the screws at the back or machine. (3screws.jpg)

Please be careful, it is not easy to open. Please see attachment for open upper cover method. (OpenUpper.bmp)

And you need to loose the screws on the top of CD Holder. (open3screw.jpg)

You will see there are 2 motors (Black motor for eject CD, white motor spins CD-Holder)

Please check the wires inside the machine are OK, the wires attached on the motor are OK. (wires.jpg, motorwire.jpg)

Here is the machine starting procedure:

Once the power is plug in the CD Library II, Black Motor will move a little bit first.

Then White Motor will spin a lot to find CD-Holder’s location.

If black motor cannot move to its position or CD-holder cannot find its position, SOS shows up.

If you see SOS, one of these motors has problem.

Please check the wire connects OK.

Problem 4:

I have 3 DC-300, how can I control 3 machines from same software?

Solution:

The CD Library software can control many machines at the same time (127 pieces maximum).

Each CD Library has a unique number inside the chip.

When you open software, it finds the unique numbers and records them in “dbid.txt” in C:\Program Files\CD Library (You can open dbid.txt and see it)

First line is ID1, Second line is ID2.  so when you double click ID1, software controls first line and first number in dbid.txt

Please check the attached image for detail.  (dbidtxt.bmp)

Please follow the steps:

1)       Please make sure which machine is ID1, which machine is ID2, which machine is ID3.

2)       Unplug them all, only plug in first machine in computer.

3)       Go to C:\Program Files\CD Library

4)       Delete dbid.txt

5)       Open software, click ID1, any slot. First machine moves.  (Now the first unique number is recorded in dbid.txt)

6)       Plug in second machine into computer, click ID2, any slot.  Second machine moves.

7)       Plug in third machine into computer, click ID3, any slot. Third machine moves.
